We're currently in the desert, in one of the two places where California, Arizona and Nevada meet. Very busy doing and seeing some fantastic things. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these black and whites, from everywhere. You might have seen a couple of them in the past.

The dunes one is stunning. You really should put together a book of your photography, Pat.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for posting my book in your sidebar! Seven more weeks...
LOVE the black and white images!
ReplyDeleteCheryl Ann
Pat, these are ALL fantastic photographs! I lived in Japan for a summer, so the one of the two Japanese business men brought back memories of my time there.
ReplyDeleteAnd the one of the Oceano Dunes is STUNNING!
Hope you're having a great time on your trip!
loved the dunes. have fun!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the Oceano dunes and the mid day moon over Yuma. Love the shadows and ripples in the first & the vanishing point in the other.
ReplyDeleteSuperb captures as always, Pat, and the very best way to start my day!! Thank you for sharing! Love those snoozing ducks!! Hope you have a beautiful day!

ReplyDeleteThe dunes shot is amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. But you've got me confused - where's the second place where California, Arizona, and Nevada meet? I can only think of one...
ReplyDeleteBlack and whites are my favorites. these are THE BEST of any I've ever seen. Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteNice shots, I really like the trains. Are you holding up in Laughlin? I've been there in the winter and it is nice, but I couldn't imagine living there in the summer.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a fabulous time... I'll bet we get to see photos sometime from where you are now!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat B&W's... I especially love "nap time"...
Hugs,
Betsy
The dunes are beautiful in B&W --- otherworldly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe businessmen look like children dressed up, but I am old. Everyone looks young.
I've seen those looking trains passing through Felicity CA. If you've not dropped by Felicity -- I recommend you do. You pass it on the way to Yuma
ReplyDeleteI love these photos, Pat. They have a different feel than your others. Very nice, evocative scenes.
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh - Thanks Alex! Nice of you to say that. You are most welcome about your book.

More great photos. I guess we can expect to see some photos where you've been recently sometime in the near future.

Arlee Bird - Thanks Lee! As to photos from where we are now, oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteBetty Manousos - Thanks so much Betty! Happy weekend to you also.
What you published was actually very reasonable. However, consider this, what if you added a little information? I am not suggesting your content isn't
ReplyDeletegood., however what if you added a headline to maybe get people's attention? I
mean "Black and White - group 4" is kinda boring.
You might look at Yahoo's home page and watch how they create news titles to grab
people to click. You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to grab
people excited about everything've written. Just my opinion, it could bring your blog
a little bit more interesting.

Excellent black and white series. Always nice to change things up every once in a while! Love the Oceana Dunes!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to take a course with you when it comes to monochrome photos. You cover every aspect of subject, but maybe the train wins with me (but the Japanese businessmen come close!)
ReplyDeleteLove the dunes! I've been wanting to do some black/white photos, maybe now is the time.
ReplyDeleteNice. The dunes and train are classic. Enjoy your blog break :-)
ReplyDeletethe dunes is my favourite :)
ReplyDeleteWhen Commenters choose their favorite of your pictures, it works like a Rorshach test! For me it's the birds--I've never seen feathers rendered so lush and soft--the completeness of their sleep--and the dream whites and greys.
