Over the years I've posted photos of boulders that look like just about every animal I can think of. Here is a new one. To me, it's the best one I've ever seen. I can't even really describe it properly.
The hairdo, beard, eyebrows, and nose are great. The whole face is comical. I'm trying to ignore the rear end...
Looks like an old dude trying to walk on all fours.
ReplyDeleteVery strange, indeed!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh - Yeah it does, and he's really in an unflattering position.
ReplyDeletetrav4adventures - Strange and comical!
I fart in your general direction? I really like the face. Some sort of troll-elephant thing.
ReplyDeleteWayne - Monty Python! You know, it really does look a troll.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your description of this animal; I smiled. Pat, I saw his yes, his comical face, his eyebrows. He is a little bit awkward but otherwise is great! Wonderful photograph!!!
ReplyDeleteSomebody must have been on Easter Island! Or perhaps the other way around :-)
ReplyDeleteDang, that dude is stoned!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a face! So strange
ReplyDeleteQuite a cross face, too!
ReplyDeleteKaya - Awkward is a good word for this guy. I started laughing out loud when I saw him.
ReplyDeletevisualnorway - Yep! I have a photo around here somewhere of a rock, that REALLY looks it belongs on Easter Island. I have to find it.
Brian - Very Stoned! That's funny Brian.
Pat @ Mille Flori Favoriti - Yep, he is very strange. Thanks for the comment Pat.
William Kendall - I know! This guy has a little bit of everything in his look.
Thanks for coming by! Wishing you and your family a happy Valentine's day:)
ReplyDeleteAlready before I read your text I thought, these look like two faces - one on each side. As a painter I deal with this all the time -once a person sees "something" in a certain part, they can't see anything else in it after that:)
When you put a sea shell to your ear you can hear the ocean. I wonder what you'd hear if you put your ear to the hole on the back end of that rock...
ReplyDeletejeannettestgermain - that's funny, I didn't even mention that I saw a face in back part. I thought it was too obscure, and a sure sign of my run-away imagination.
ReplyDeleteTim Hendrik - HA! That's funny! I hope it wouldn't be a rattlesnake.
it does look like a face, an angry one!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I don't know what's funnier - your stoneman or the comments.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I see two faces looking in opposite directions.
ReplyDeleteI just spent some time catching up on your blog. I really enjoyed seeing and reading about the interesting places you visit. It was sad to read about your health issues. You seem to be doing well tough. Thanks for the virtual road trips and best wishes! :-)
Love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and your loved ones. We are enjoying this special day in Arkansas at our special little cabin on the mountain!
ReplyDeleteInteresting boulder... Did you give him a name?? Ha
Hugs,
Betsy
I think it's cool.
ReplyDeleteDEZMOND - If not angry, at least very stern.
ReplyDeleteFrancisca - I know! I need to gather all the odd boulders into a single post. There is one in the JT area that looks JUST like a cat!
James - My pleasure. James. Hopefully, all the health issues are behind me. If not, I'll just keep doing what I do anyway. Thanks for the nice words.
Liz - Me too Liz!
Betsy Adams - Thanks so much Betsy! Enjoy yourselves. I'll think about a name.
That really is quite a cool formation. The face is grand, and that rear end demands that it not be ignored!
ReplyDeleteI see the face and figure too! Wonderful.
ReplyDeleterobin andrea - Very cool! It is quite a rear end, that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteLady Fi - I love finding these things. This is the best.
Hello, this is great! I see two faces looking in opposite directions.
ReplyDeleteIt is odd, great find. Thanks for linking up and for the comment.
Enjoy your day and the week ahead!
The face is quite extraordinary Pat, eyeball and all! I too have enjoyed the hilarious comments above 😀😀
ReplyDeleteeileeninmd - Hi Eileen! Very odd! Enjoy your week as well.
ReplyDeletePerthDailyPhoto - I can't believe the eye, or the eyebrow. I also love the comments.
A neat face!
ReplyDeleteAre those off the beaten track, Pat?
ReplyDeleteI should have spent more time there, and would have except for the faulty gas line in the truck camper.
Back to Montana for me tomorrow.
Mike
Very cool - it makes me think of the statues on the cover of Pink Floyd's The Division Bell album.
ReplyDeleteAl - HA! I hadn't thought of that, but if there was another one just like it, it really would.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! He looks a bit squashed though :-)
ReplyDeleteNat - Yeah, he does have a few problems!
ReplyDeleteRegarding your question at my blog the other day, a beavertail's a fried pastry in the shape of the beaver tail, with a variety of toppings- cinnamon and sugar is one, for instance, or one can go with chocolate hazelnut or banana, in other cases.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Kendall - Thanks William. I've never heard of this before, but it sure sounds good!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIda - Me too! One of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
ReplyDeletea face alright, first thing i noted :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it's waiting to be kicked, like "Yeah... I deserve it. Just make it quick!" LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to say at first glance the right side was a phallus! Or a mushroom. But yes, I see the face now too. You have so much fun on all your hikes.
ReplyDeleteHaha that's some face... He looks like a Smurf.
ReplyDeleteIt is a He isn't it. Don't want to be accused of sexism....
Is there anyway to check?
=]
NatureFootstep - Yep! Hard to miss this one.
ReplyDeleteVid Digger - HA! All it needs is a "kick me" sign on it. Did you disable commenting on your blog?
Sharon Wagner - Don't be ashamed, everybody sees different things. That is kind of funny though! We do have fun hiking, that is for sure.
Anthony J. Langford - Yep! An angry smurf. Even if you could check, I wouldn't!
I see two distinct things/parts: a half moon face on the left and a fist (or is it poop?)on the right. Nevertheless, it's a curious find.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Pat.
Crazy looking rock! Funny how we all seem to find faces everywhere, but can't find our car keys most of the time!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Nature's cartoon! I am thinking lots of things, but can't say any of them. Too funny.
ReplyDeletetest
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Some of the most amazing things we'll ever see are found in nature.
ReplyDeleteRawknrobyn.blogspot.com - Your guess is as good as mine Robyn! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSteward M - It sure is! HA! Isn't that the truth.
Sallie (FullTime-Life) - Nature's Cartoon, that's a good one! I know what you mean, not all of it is G-rates.
Stephanie Faris - Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
ReplyDeleteHi, Pat.
ReplyDeleteCommenting is not disabled on my blog. I broke it! :(
Vid Digger - Oh Oh! I hope you can fix it...
ReplyDeleteIt's a sphinx Pat. An American sphinx, naturally.
ReplyDeleteDennis Hodgson - HA! Of course it is...
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! That is hilarious! To me, it looks like a snail with an old man's face. With a HUGE nose. That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteBaby Sister - I never thought of it looking like a snail, but it does! My favorite part is the guy's eyebrows.
