She apparently wasn't calling the police on me. Oh yeah, she's one of our daughters, so I guess she couldn't... Her hat looks to be straight out of Carnaby Street.
How many of you did I lose with that reference?

aww, your daughter is just beautiful!
ReplyDeletegreat reflections!
wishing a lovely weekend!
nice pic! And yeah, you definitely lost me on that reference, but I get lost on a lot of references so that's not surprising. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteYou mod bloke! Your daughter is a lovely bird!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteIts very fashionable, and she looks cute on it! Can she hear me now? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI like her sun glass too!
she is beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of shot, Pat. Simple and uncontrived. And it works so beautifully in black and white!
ReplyDeleteNevine
No idea what Carnaby Street is, but that hat is awesome.
ReplyDeletevery pretty. Does she get taken as Mexican. When we lived around a lot of Mexican families people always thought my daughters were Mexican. At school kids would randomly start speaking Spanish to them. That doesn't seem to happen in Boston.
ReplyDeleteyup, i didn't get that reference, but glad she knew you! :)
ReplyDeleteDig the picture. The reflections off her glasses I think are way better contrast in the black and white than had it been in color.
ReplyDeleteI got the reference, for no other reason than the inordinate amount of British media I've consumed in my life. haha
I like this one. And your daughter is gorgeous. Carnaby Street? Yes, I was there . . .
ReplyDeleteWonderful B & W, I like the light and that pretty girl, and of course the reflections of the eyewear. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific capture, Pat! The perfect B&W and your daughter is beautiful and I love the hat -- wherever it came from! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Cool shot! It wasn't lost on me because I've been to Carnaby Street and there was a huge Mod revival in OC when I was in high school. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...and I love her hat!
ReplyDeleteGreat shades and very carnabyesque....
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, Pat, and the hat looks great on her!
ReplyDeleteShe's a fashionable young lady. Reminds me of my oldest granddaughter. Were we that way? Yep.
ReplyDeleteHer sunglasses lost me first.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful how you make time stand still with your photos, Pat.
xoRobyn
The reflection in the sunglasses is great - I managed a nice sunglasses shot a couple of years ago but we don't get the weather to try such too often. The reference to Carnaby Street dates you - younger folk have no idea what life was like in the 60s.
ReplyDeleteI like it very much and she's very beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteCount me among the formerly lost (google to the rescue!)
"One of our daughters" wow... you sure know to make great looking people! You must of had a lot of practice before... hee hee
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of a beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflection and your daughter looks like she is modeling those sunglasses! She is lovely.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. Looks like she didn't even realise she was having her photo taken
ReplyDeletehee hee...
ReplyDeleteWell, «Louis» got the Carnaby Street reference - thus he aged himself in doing so!
Such a cool shot.
ReplyDeleteNice reflection shot...and a very pretty girl...
ReplyDeletewow she is adorable and I love her look, so fashion!
ReplyDeleteAwesome capture, many reflections, it's very interesting indeed!
hugs
Léia
A menina é muito bonita.
ReplyDeleteSabe o que mais gosto?
É essa mistura de referências.
Bom fim de semana!
Beijinhos.

Nice shot of your lovely daughter.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, lovely lady and I dig the Carnaby Street reference, man- it's before my time but then I am from London originally...
ReplyDeleteChrissy at Mancunian Wave photo blog
I had such a hat when I was young. I loved it. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good catch!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this shot, and your daughter is absolutely gorgeous. Hope you're having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCute shot!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful view of your charming offspring.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is really beautiful. I see the oriental in her. I'm half oriental myself.
ReplyDeletelovely daughter and lovely photo! yep...not sure of the reference.
ReplyDeletehave enjoyed exploring your posts of your road trip...awesome!
Your lovely daughter looks like a fashion model, Pat. Love the sunglasses.
ReplyDelete:)
Your daughter is hip and gorgeous! As for Carnaby Street, I had to google to confirm my vague notion. Happy to say my old noggin didn't fail me this time.
ReplyDeleteYOu didn’t fool me...I took kids to London for so many years I could not forget Carnaby Street and all the things they sell. Loved your commentary....Like the hat. genie
ReplyDeleteBetty M - Thanks so much Betty! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSarah - Thanks Sarah! It's okay, you are young!
Lolamouse - Ha! You got it!
Alex - Thaks Alex! I gotta agree with you.
Ebie - Thats a funny line! Thanks Ebie!
becca - Thanks so much becca!
ReplyDeleteNevine - Thaks Nevine. I agree about the black and white! When I'm out taking candid photos of folks on the street, I always think b&w is best.
Matthew - I think so also. It's a Beatle's era look in England.
Budd - Hey Budd! Sometimes, but not very often. With no sunglasses on, she looks pure Asian. My wife got that too when she was younger.
TexWisGirl - You didn't get it, because you are young then! Even if she didn't know me, I'd still have taken it. I figure if you are out in public, you are fair game! The person being photographed, doesn't always agree with me though.
Tim - Thanks Tim! I agree about the choice of color or not!
ReplyDeleteJack - Thanks so much! She's a cutie, that's for sure.
Leovi - Thanks Leovi! I appreciate it!
Sylvia K - Thanks so much Sylvia! The hat came from the "mod" period in England. The Beatles, Twiggy, etc...
James - Thanks James! I wonder if there will ever be another period like that?
Brian - Thanks so much! Pretty stylish...
Catherine - Now that's the spirit!
ReplyDeleteMs. A - Thanks my friend! She's one of those people who makes clothes look good.
Bouncin Barb - She sure is! Not me! I think I still dress the same way. Casual...
Robyn - Yeah, photos tend to do that. LOL... I think that is one of the things I like about b&w, it seems to freeze the moment!
Gerald - Thanks Gerald! The thing we have the most of out here, is good weather. My wife tells me that a lot of the things I do and say, date me! Oh yeah, the 60's and early 70's changed everything.
Wayne - Thanks so much Wayne! Gotta love google!
ReplyDeleteNikki - Thanks Nikki! We have 5 kids, 4 of 'em are daughters.
Mama Zen - I'll say thank you for her!
Belle - thanks so much Belle! Nice of you to say so!
Mynx - Thanks! She was probably ignoring me as usual! Not really, she's always been my little friend.
Louis - Well then, we both did that! I think it's a good trade off, to have experienced the things of those years.
ReplyDeleteKathryn - Thanks so much!
Carol - I'd say right on both counts. I'm glad I noticed.
Leia - thanks so much Leia! I always appreciate it. Have a good week.
Magia - Thanks for the nice words Magia.
Martha Z - Thanks so much Martha.
Chrissy - Thanks on all counts! I've never actually been there, but I sure do remember those times.
ReplyDeleteNatureFootstep - I'll bet you did! Very stylish...
Rebecca - Thanks Rebecca! The photo was taken at a big street fair. Lot's of good shots to be had at those.
Nicole - Hi Nicole! Thanks so much for the kind words. The weekend was great and I hope yours was as well.
Blue Wave - thanks so much!
Lochinver DP - Thanks so much! she is indeed charming.
Clarissa - Thanks so much Clarissa! I didn't know that about you! It's a lovely blend...
ReplyDeleteCarolyn - Thanks on both counts Carolyn. It seems, we are almost always on a road trip.
Pam - Thanks Pam! She has done a bit of modeling and could probably do a lot more. But she's too busy working and living her life.
Susan - Hip! That's another good term for those times. I'm glad it didn't fail you also.
Genie - I envy those trips. I've yet to make it there myself. Thanks Genie!
I admitt it. You lost me. But she looks pretty darn cool sporting that hat. Patrick, you are such a great blog supporter. Thanks for all those comments!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Daughter- Beautiful reflection!
ReplyDeleteJ
I'm still here!!! And yes, she does look like she's been to Carnaby street!!! With a contemporary twist!!! She's lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my Pat! Your daughter is lovely. She looks a bit annoyed with you, though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had to look it up, and she does look so British in this photo.
ReplyDeleteRosemary
She's beautiful, you caught a great reflection -- and I'm old enough to "get" your reference!!
ReplyDeleteDon't know Carnaby Street, but I love the photograph - especially the hat! And your daughter - beautiful lips and long dark hair.
ReplyDeleteAnn Best, Author of In the Mirror & Other Memoirs
I got the reference - and you're right.
ReplyDeleteSharon W - You don't seem lost! Thanks Sharon! My pleasure.

Sallie - Thanks Sallie! That makes two of us!
ReplyDeleteAnn - Thanks so much Ann! She is indeed a beauty! She doesn't act like it at all though. So very down to earth...
