Regrets of the Living

Regrets of the living

To escape unscathed
To defy death
To cheat mutilation
To have let them down, somehow
Envy of the dead and wounded

  1. It must feel horrible to think that, just because you are alive, you have let down those that were not so lucky? Or did I misunderstand? I do know that there is a lot of guilt associated with surviving soldiers of violent wars. I think the complications of war can never be explained... never be unraveled.

  2. Nevine - You hit it right on the head! On a rational level, it makes no sense, but somewhere deep inside there is guilt and envy...

  3. Nope! Not a single person. I think our whole country suffered needlessly.
