Yup, they are short on space. This was behind an apartment building, in an alley. What struck me the most about it, was the absolute absence of litter of any kind.
B&W is a really crisp medium and you aren't distracted by various colors. I love color photography but my fav is B&W. These shots are too cool. Even before I read your comment I noticed there was no trash on the ground at all. Very cool.
I really like that photo of the bikes lined up. I have a photo somewhere of tables stacked up for winter at the beach - there's something about black and grouped items in black and white, I bet there's a term for it, but I love it whatever it is :)
This probably a good idea...parking garage for bicycles!

ReplyDeleteThe use of black and white in these make for great drama...loving these!
ReplyDeleteI loved that first photograph, the way the tree's branches cast a soft shadow over the building, it's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJoan - thanks! I"m not sure why I'm so attracted to black and white, but I am!
ReplyDeleteSam - thanks! it's an odd look, I agree

ReplyDeleteLove that first one and how the pavement is SO clean in the second one.
ReplyDeleteThe bicycle parking area is off an alley also. Still clean!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNow I really really want to go
to Japan.
I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing your Japan photos.
ReplyDeleteA country I long to visit....
