I am also quite fascinated by reptiles. They are definitely a throw back to the dinosaur age. I love how they can change color and all their scales. It is almost like their suit of armor...but much cooler.
Reptiles scare the hell out of me! And they're usually scaredy-cat kind of creatures (well, some of them). I'm surprised this one didn't take off before you had a chance to snap your photo. Nice one!
I too first noticed your can see the reflection of you taking the picture in her eye! That is too badass...great shot. I can't get stuffed animals to hold that still :)
Nevine - It wasn't intimidated by me in the slightest. I just looked to my right and there are two lizards on the side of the fence warming up in the sun. Thanks!
Biana - Thanks! I agree! Those colors are amazing...
Marlene - thanks my friend!
Nat - It's a good thing this one isn't mine, our cats are pretty smart, and would find a way....
Sam - Thanks Sam, I appreciate it.
Joan - He is a pretty one!
Ms A - Thanks! Nice to see your name pop up!
Jenny - I thought it was kinda cute myself.
SQ - LOL...that's funny!
Chuck - I think I'm going to blow it up and crop it so the reflection stands out.
Marguerite - There are so many of them around here, that even the little kids like them.
I love this. Apart from birds, reptiles are my favorite creatures.
ReplyDelete(but, being odd that I am, I also love insects)
I like how they look like little Dino's...
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! I love the colors!!
ReplyDeletetotally natural. I don't even know how to describe that color of green.

Fantastic shot Pat, the detail is excellent.
ReplyDeleteFaye - My pleasure, I like your blog! thanks for the nice words.
ReplyDeleteSquirrelQueen - Thanks to you! It was a challenge because there was frozen mist in the air, every once in a while I got to take a shot or two.
Wow, I love the colors and clarity of this shot!

ReplyDeleteLooks like my Aunt Gert before she moisturized (God rest her soul).
ReplyDeleteAmazing photograph Patrick. I think I could see you being reflected in the eye of the lizard when I enlarged the photograph.
ReplyDeleteCostas
What do the cats think of your pet lizard?
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and I like how the background is not as sharp as the reptiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of lizard is it?
ReplyDeleteGeorgina - he sure wasn't afraid of me!
ReplyDeleteBB - oh that's a funny one! Clever girl...
Sarah - I agree. the closer you get the better it looks
DrSoosie - I totally agree. I also get the same feeling from birds.
Jesse - I thought the same thing!
Costaas - I wondered if anybody would notice the reflection...
Alex - If it was at my house, I'm afraid my cats would have fought over which one got to eat it...
Katherine - Thanks! Nature has a nice way of coloring things...
Warren - It's supposed to be a "Green Gecko," but I'm not sure
I enlarged it and came face to face with a large eye. Beautiful lizard though.
